Let the Games begin!
August 8th, 2008 Posted in ConnieThe Opening Ceremonies were a visual delight! From the absolutely mesmerizing display of synchrony from the opening act of 2008 drummers to the lone gymnast ‘running’ the circumference of the upper reaches of the bird’s nest - it was a delight. But nothing could match the absolutely unabated response I had to seeing Taylor with the US Team - screaming with delight I did my best to grab a photo but not miss the moment! A few words on Beijing. The people are absolutely as friendly as can be and try very very hard to practice their english. It’s fun to converse! The smog is as thick as can be. What a disappointment! I’m hoping for a few clear days! It actually does not feel bad but I’m not exercising in it…much less competing. Onward! this is fun!
